Cindy Sherman
A rotating selection of available works, chosen for their momentum in today's market.
Biography
Cindy Sherman is an American artist whose staged photographic self-portraits have reshaped how contemporary art understands identity, performance, and representation. Emerging from the Pictures Generation in the late 1970s, she became known for transforming herself into invented characters that echo cinema, fashion, advertising, history, and social stereotypes. Across series such as Untitled Film Stills, Centerfolds, History Portraits, and later digitally manipulated works, Sherman uses costume, makeup, gesture, and mise-en-scene to reveal the constructed nature of images. For collectors, her practice remains central to photo-based conceptual art and the politics of looking.
